Sub.iect: Use of ASE Code Case N-413 at Hope Creek The staff has completed its review of your June 7,1985 request for author-ization to use ASE Code Case N-413 for application at Hope Creek.

Code Case N-413. " Minimum Size of Fillet Welds for Linear Type Supports. .

Section III, Division 1, Subsection NF", is an acceptable Code Case which is approved as written with no additional requirements other than those specified in the Code Case. The Code Case is expected to be endorsed by the NRC in a future revision of Regulatory Guide 1.84, " Design and Fabrication Code Case Acceptability ASME Section III, Division 1".

Code Case N-413 may, therefore, be used at Hope Creek for linear type supports within the limitations stated in the " Inquiry" and " Reply" section of the Code Case. Use of the Code Case should be documented in a future ' -

Amendment to the FSAR.
