REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING THE. STEAM GENERATOR TUBE ALTERNATE PLUGGING CRITERIA AMENDMENTS FOR JOSEPH H. FARLEY, NVCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC N05. M79818 AND M79819)
By letter dated February 26, 1991, as supplemented by' letters dated November 13, 1991, and February 21, April 10, June 4 and 16, July 10, and December 17, 1992, you requested amendments to the Joseph H. Farley Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, Technical Specifications to utilize alternate repair criteria for steam generator tubes.
In reviewing your submittals, we have identified the need t
for additional information.
Please provide the following information:
1.
A description of the applicable emergency operating procedures which cover leakage of primary coolant into the secondary during transients and accidents, e.g. main steamline break with and without ruptured steam generator tubes.
2.
A description of training provided to the operators regarding the use of procedures involving leakage of primary fluid to the se:ondary system during transients and accidents.
3.
If simulator training was provided on main steambreak accidents with ruptured or leaking steam generator tubes, please provide graphical representations of important plant responses, c.g., reactor coolant system pressure and temperature, annotated with operator actions performed.
Provide similar information for any thermal hydraulic analyses which have been performed.
Your response to this request for additional information is required before we can complete our review of the requested amendments.
