I This is in response to your lette.' o the Comission dated I
August 19, 1976 in which you asked several questions concerning-the submission of NRC/ERDA Foms 742 and 741 pursuant to 10 CFR 70.53 and 70.54. Your queries involved three facilities of.the; i
Northern States Power Company; specifically, Prairie Island 1
't (Docket 50-282),PrairieIsland2(Docket 50-306)andtheMonti-i celloplant(Docket 50-253).
These facilities are subject to all reporting requirements set forth in 10 CFR Parts 70.53 and 70.54. All three facilities have continuously filed their NRC/ERDA Fom 742's on time and in accordance with regulations, the latest covering the period January 1976 through June 1976.
The NRC/ERDA Fom 741 is used to record transfers of Nuclear Material and in the case of power reactors is submitted in con-junction with receiving fresh fuel or shipping out scrap, byproducts or depleted fuel. Only one of the three facilities has had 741 activity during calendar year 1976.
The 742 and 741 data are stored at the Union Carbide computer f
site at Oak Ridge Tennessee, in both digital and hard copy form.
