this office on April 25, 1985, of activities at the Byron, LaSalle, i

Quad Cities, and Zion Nuclear Stations, Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC l

r. . Licenses Nos. NPF-23 and CPPR-131, NPF-11 and NPF-18, DPR-29 and DPR-30,

L DPR-39 and DPR-48, respectively, and to the discussion of our findings with

f. Dr. J. Golden and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the

inspection. The inspection was conducted at the Commonwealth Edison Company

headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Additional discussien was held with

R.'Dwyer on May 3, 1965.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during the

course of this inspection. However because of the number of items that were

not ready to be closed, I have instructed my staff to repeat this inspection

just prior to the end of the current SALP period.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of

this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the.NRC Public Document

Room.
