ACCEPTABILITY OF SCOPE OF PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS FOR HYDROGEN CONTROL In your. letter U-0820 dated April 3,1985 you requested an evaluation of the acceptablilty of the proposed scope of your preliminary analysis for hydrogen control (enclosure to letter) for compliance with the NRC's hydrogen control rulemaking set forth in 10 CFR 50.44 (e)(3). The staff has evaluated the scope of your proposed submittal and determined that it is acceptabls if modified as follows:
Since your submittal date for this preliminary analysis is not until September 16, 1985 it is requested that you incorporate any new HC0G information into your analysis that evolves between now and then, that does not impact your submittal date.
'A list of systems and components required to survive hydrogen burning should be provided.
Demonstration of equipment survivability for the list of systems and components provided above.
With regard to your containment response analysis it is assumed that you will utilize the heat transfer option in your plant specific Clasix-3 analyses as stated in letter U-0824 which was also dated April 3,1985.
