REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO SUPPORT REVIEW 0F THE CANADIAN DEUTERIUM URANIUM (CANDU) 3 SEISMIC DESIGN In the CANDU 3 Conceptual Safety Report submitted un August 25, 1989, Appendix D2 addresses seismic qualification.
in Appendix 02, Section 5.3, Applicable Codes and Standards, documents are listed which contain criteria for seismically qualifying equipment in the CANDU design.
The following document is listed:
AECL-6691, " Design Requirements, Criteria and Methods for Seismic Qualification of CANDU Nuclear Power Plants" This letter requests you to provide three copies each of the above AECL report. Your response is requested within 30 days of receipt of this letter in. order to support the NRC's current preapplication schedule.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
