Summary of Operating Experience for Unit 1 During this reporting period, Byron Station's Unit 1 continued in.its.
-Startup. Testing Program,'and achieved significant objectives toward Commercial Operation.
The. Unit began this' reporting period'on April 1 in a critical mode with the generator synchronized to the grid. The Unit remained as 4

.a Low-Low Steam Generator-Level.
The' Unit was'taken critical on April 3 at 1422 hours0.0165 days <br />0.395 hours <br />0.00235 weeks <br />5.41071e-4 months <br /> and the generator was synchronized onto the grid at 2310 hours0.0267 days <br />0.642 hours <br />0.00382 weeks <br />8.78955e-4 months <br />.- The. reactor remained critical until April'10 at 1335 hours0.0155 days <br />0.371 hours <br />0.00221 weeks <br />5.079675e-4 months <br /> when a Reactor Trip due to High Negative Rate occurred. Additionally, on April 10 at.
1326 hours0.0153 days <br />0.368 hours <br />0.00219 weeks <br />5.04543e-4 months <br /> in an unrelated incident, a rupture disc on a Boric Acid Evaporator ruptured releasing slightly radioactive steam & water.
Area radiation monitor alarms were received and the 346' elevation of the Auxiliary Building was evacuated.
