Request for Assistance in Addressing Concern Expressed by Mr. Milton Hite During Limited Appearance Session of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant Licensing Board Hearing on April 11,1985 The enclosed letter form Mr. Milton Hite of Painesville, Ohio indicates that NRC's initial response to his concern relative to landfills in the vicinity of the Perry site did not consider the landfill in Lake County, much closer to the Perry site.
(See map drawn by Mr. Hite on the enclosed letter).
This particular area was alluded to in the Perry hearing testimony at pp 2760-2761.
Your assistance is requested in order that we may be fully responsive to Mr. Hite.
It is specifically requested that your staff advise of the exact location of the Lake County landfill and its distance from the Perry site (a map would be helpful); as well as the results of any assessment made by CEI regarding the impact of gases generated at the landfill location on the Perry plant. Please provide your response within 30 days of receipt of this letter.
