Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Unit 3 requires Southern California Edison l
(SCE) to report violations of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination l
System (NPDES) permit.
This letter reports one NPDES violation for Unit 3.
l The referenced letter is provided as an enclosure.
During the month cf August all sampled water sources were found to be within p(ermit limits with one exception.TRC) at the combined discharge on August 25. T The exception was total residual chlorine 1330 was 0.35 ppm which exceeds the permit liinitation of 0.2 ppm.
A resample analysis at 1450 cn August 25 indicated a lkC concentration of 0.06 ppm. All subs equent TRC measurements have been within limits.

NPDES Discharge' Monitoring Report San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 3 The NPDES Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for San Onofre Unit 3 cavering the month of August is submitted in accordance with the requirements of Order No. 85-13 (NPDES Permit No. CA0108181).
A summary of the generating unit's status and significant analytical results is provided below.
The unit was in operation all month and all sampled water sources were found to be witnin permit limits with one exception. The xception was total residual chlorine (TRC) at the combined discharge en August 25.
The measured concentration at 1330 was 0.35 ppm which exceeds "he permit limitation of 0.2 ppm.
A resample analysis at 1450 on August 25 indicated a TRC concentration of 0.06 ppm.
All subsequent TRC measurements have.been within permit limits.
