Dear #r. Seaborg:
As an Interested citizen of Minnesota, I am trying to assess the merits of the arguments for and against NSP's present plans for its Monticello and Prairie Island nuclear generating plants. From my observa t ions, It appears that the Atomic Energy Conynission has ap' proved the present plans while the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has not.
Kindly advise as to the following:
- 1. The reason for the difference in oplnlon.
)
- 2. The number and location of other nuclear generating plants which are op'erating in the U.S. which are slmllar to those of NSP and which have been bullt and operated under AEC specification and control.
- 3. Other information which would be' helpful to better understand and i
appreciate AEC's concern for health and safety of-our Minnesota citizens.
t Thank you.
