Dear Governor Anderson:
This supplements my letter of January 22, 1971 to you concermias ~
Amendment No. I to DPR-22 which authcrized Northern States Power Company to operate the Monticello Nuclear Generating Unit No. 1 at power levels not in excess of 1670 megawatts (thermal), except that Northern States could not operate the facility at power levels in excess of five (5) megawatts (thermal) with the reactor vessel head in place until performance of the feedwater pumps had been verified in writing by the Commission.
For your information, I an enclosing a copy of a letter, dated February 18, 1971, which authorizes Northern States Power Company to operate the Monticello Nuclent Generating Unit No. I at steady state power levels not to exceed 1670 megawatts (thermal) in accordance with the provisions of the license and the Technical Specifications.
