Gentlemen:
This refers to the special inspection conducted by Messrs. R. A. Westberg,
W. J. Kropp and S. M. Goldberg on May 13-17 and 30-31, 1985, of procurement
activities at Palisades Nuclear Plant authorized by NRC Operating License
No. DPR-20 and to the o iscussion of our findings with Mr. H. M. Esch and
members of your staff ,;t the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our iespection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
No violations with NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Conmission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
