1 AEC ISSUES LOW Poh'ER LICENSE FOR MONTICELLO NUCLEAR PLANT IN MINNESOTA A license for limited operation of the Montic'eilo iiu-clear Generating Station in Minnesota has been issued to Northern States Power Company by the AEC's Division of Re-actor Licensing.
Issuance of the license was authorized by a decision of an Atomic Safety and Licensing Board on August 24 license permits only fuel loading and start-up testing of The the facility at power levels up to a maximum of five mega-watts thermal and without the reactor vessel head in place.
A public hearing conducted by the licensing board to consider the company's application for a full power licenso was held April 28-May 1; June 15-18; and August 5-7 in St.
Paul, Minnesota.
