This is in response to your letter dated October 29, 1992, concerning annual fee Invoice AM06750-92 for Quality Assurance Program Approval No. 0727.
The invoice cannot be cancelled.
The fee is required by 10 CFR 171 c,f the Commission's regulations and is for the annual fee for-your QA Program Approval for FY 1992.
Public Law 101-508 passed by Congress, requires that the Commission recover 100% of its_ budget through 1995.
In order to comply Wjth the law, annual fees were established (Part l'71) for-materials licensees and holders of certificates, registrations and approvals.
The annual fees recover NRC's generic and other costs that are not recovered as identifiable services to NRC's applicants under Part 170.
The annual fees allocate the generic costs that are attributable to a given class of license (e.g. QA Approvals).
Thereforo, no specific service is required to be; rendered to Continental by NRC for the assessment of the annual fee.
Enclosed is a copy of the July 23, 1992, notice which explains the FY 1992 annual fees.
