Dear hiayor Nunes:
This letter is in response to public interest in the status of issues related to reactor vessel water level instrumentation at Pilgrim. While we continue to be satisfied with the Boston Ikiison Company response to this issue, the NRC will conduct a second public information meeting on February 3,1993, beginning at 7:00 pm in the Sheraton-Plymouth Hotel, Plymouth, hiassachusetts.
We believe the initial meeting on this issue on August 29,1992, was cond6cied in a forum that encouraged open information exchange and was viewed as constructive. However, in an effort to be responsive to comments received from local officials following the August meeting, we intend to refine the format of the upcoming meeting.
Specifically, after a brief NRC presentation that statuses this issue, we will initially take questions posed by elected and appointed officials. Following that, we will open the meeting to questions from the attending public. In the interest of providing all attendees an opportunity to ask questions, we will ask that those who plan to pose questions to the NRC staff place their names on a roster maintained by a designated meeting assistant. The order of questions will be taken from this roster, and we plan to limit oral questioning to a reasonable time period. As always, questions may be presented in written form and the staff response would subsequently become a matter of public record.
