Dear Sir:
I am writing to express my concern about the proposed NRC ruling that will permit development of two high-level nuclear waste sites on the shores of Lake Michigan; one near the Palisades reactor of the Consumer's Power Company in Michigan and the other at Wisconsin Electric's Point Beach plant near Two Rivers.
I urge you to :
- 1. Extend the comment period in order for concerned citizens to prepare a thorough list of objectiona, since the potential impact on the lake warrants indepth analysis.
- 2. Prepare an environmental impact statement of the use of ventilated storage casks in general.
- 3. .!!old a public hearing in the region involved.
