Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. is doing a better job monitoring radiation releases at its Nine Mlle Point nuclear plant than it did a year ago, according to two recent reports by federal regulators.

The positive reports marked a j change in fortune for the Syracuse-tased utility, which has spent much time recently responding to criticism from the U.S. Nuclear i Regulatory Commission of how it runs its two nuclear plants on Lake i Ontario.
