We are in receipt of your letter dated April 12, 1985, and the attachment identified as Appendix I, regarding the estimated small quantity of high enriched uranium found in an industrial waste line on the Windsor site.

Our review has concluded that the special nuclear. material control and accounting and physical protection procedures outlined in the referenced Appendix I to your letter dated April 12, 1985, are adequate for the collection, accountability, security and disposal of the material.

1 Accordingly, effective immediately, the following unnumbered license condition is added to Amendment SG-1 of your License Ho. SfH-1067.

"The licensee shall follow the procedures outlined in Items IV through XIV of Attachnent I to his letter dated April 12, 1985, for the recovery, processing, storage and disposal of the material described therein.

Appropriate periodic project status reports shall be submitted to this office with a final report submitted stating the final element and isotopic values based on analytical results along with the expected shipping date of the material to burial.

This license condition shall expire as of the date of the Form DOE /HRC-741 which brings the material to zero for that material referenced in your April 12, 1985, letter and Appendix I attached thereto.

In the event that additional strategic special nuclear material is found either at the location cited in your April 12, 1985, letter or any other location on the Windsor site, the licensee shall immediately notify this office by phone followed short k by a formal report.

In this eventuality, the material control and accounting and physical protection proce-dures outlined in the aforementioned Appendix I shall be followed, modified as necessary to suit the material type."
