Dear Mr. Ippolito:
Summary In accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10, Part 50.90 and Part 2.101, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) hereby requests revisions to the Environmental Technical Specifications (ETS) for its Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP) Unit Nos. 1 and 2.
These changes are to delete Sample Station No. 36 and its related sampling requirements f rom the Brunswick ETS.
Discussion Section 4.2 of the Brunswick ETS states that any location from which milk can no longer be obtained may be dropped from the surveillance program.
The farmer at Sample Station No. 36 has gone completely out of the dairy business and his milk cows are no longer available for sampling. We are therefore requesting revisions to the Brunswick ETS to delete Sample Station No. 36.
Impact Evaluation Since Sample Station No. 36 is only a monitoring point for plant releases and has no interface with the operation of plant systems, its deletion will have no impact on plant design bases nor on previously-evaluated p{stulatedaccidentsortheirconsequences.
