Subject:

Management Meeting On December 17, 1992, Mr. D. Long and other members of your staff met with Mr. R. Keimig and other NRC staff members at the NRC Region I office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The meeting was requested by your staff to discuss several matters related to the physical security program at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. A list of attendees is enclosed with this letter.

The principal matters discussed during the meeting were: (1) the plans for the construction of an Engineering / Support building and the impact that the construction will have on plant security; (2) the status of the installation of the new security diesel and modifications to the security backup power supplies; and (3) the status ol *he procurement and installation of a new security computer system.

Details of our discussions are deemed to be Safeguards Information and are exempt from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21. We appreciate your staff's initiative in requesting the meeting and their efforts in compiling the information that was presented. We found the meeting beneficial in providing the NRC with a comprehensive overview of existing and planned security program activities.
