My letter of December 15, 1992, transmitted the Nuclear Regulatory Commission comments on the draft Long-Term Surveillance Plan (LTSP) for the Lowman, Idaho, Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Project site.
The enclosure provides additional comments which were omitted from the previous list but which should be considered in your revision of the LTSP -Tor the Lowman site.

SUPPLEMENTAL COMMENTS ON LONG-TERM SURVEILLANCE PLAN LOWMAN, IDAHO SITE 13.
Pg. 10, Section 2.3.3.
The DOE guidance document indicates that the si'.e markers display the curies of Ra-226 at the site, not the total radioactivity.
Therefore, the last word of the first paragraph should be changed from radioactivity to Ra-226.

Figure 2.5.
The title of the figure should read " Survey Marker Installation" instead of "Lundary Marker Installation."

Figure 2.6.
The word " Boundary" should be inserted before the word
" Monument" in the title.

Pg. 21, Section 2.5.
This section of the LTSP should include or provide reference to the various maps and drawings discussed in Section 3.0 of DOE's guidance document.

The fourth bullet should include notifying the NRC that an inspection will be conducted.
