SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE On March 1, 1985, the Virgil C.
Summer Nuclear Station, Unit No. 1, started up from a forced outage which began on February 27, 1985.
The outage was 54.1 hours1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br /> in duration.
On March 17,1985, at 0503 hours0.00582 days <br />0.14 hours <br />8.316799e-4 weeks <br />1.913915e-4 months <br />, a reactor trip occurred from 100% power due to a Lo-Lo steam generator level.
During testing of a Main Steam Isolation valve (MSIV), the valve fully closed and caused the steam generator low level.
A defective switch was replaced during the outage of 13.6 hours6.944444e-5 days <br />0.00167 hours <br />9.920635e-6 weeks <br />2.283e-6 months <br /> in duration.
On April 1, 1985, the Plant was operating at 100% power.
