Inspection No. 70 398/92-01 This letter refers to the announced safeguards inspection conducted by Messrs. A. Della Ratta and G. C. Smith of this office on December 7 and 8,1992, of activities authorized by NRC -
License No. SNM 362. At the conclusion of the inspection, the results were discussed with Mr. T.11obbs and other members of your staff by Mr. Della Ratta.
Areas examined during this inspection are important to public health and safety and are described in the NRC Region 1 inspection report that is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
The inspectors observed that the programs being implemented for the control, accountability, and physical security of special nuclear material were directed toward the protection of public health and safety. No safety concerns or violations of regulatory requirements were identified.
