EllCE OF VIOLATION Consumers Power Company Docket No. 50-155 Big Rock Point Nuclear Plant License No. DPR-6 As a result of the inspection conducted on November 30, 1992 to December 4, 1992, and in accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (Enforcement Policy) '
the following violation was identified:
Technical specification 6.11 requires adherence to radiation protection l procedures.
Station administrative procedure 5.10, ' Respiratory Protection and Airborne Contamination Guides," requires that another air sample be taken in an area if more than 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> have elapsed since the last air sample.
Contrary to the above, on February 14, 1992, a radiation protection technician and a station engineer entered the recirculation pump room and steam drum area !
without taking an air sample. The most recent air sample of these areas had been taken two days earlier.
The inspection report showed that steps had been taken to correct the ,
identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter. ;
