Dear Mr. Jones:
Thank you for your letter dated January 29, 1981 in which you requested information related to the participation of the El Paso Electric Company in tne Palo Verde project.
I have enclosed the following documents which
.I trust will be responsive to your needs:
- 1) Joint application for the issuance of operating licenses for N Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVUGS), Units I, 2, and 3;
- 2) Arizona Nuclear Power Project Participation Agreement and Amendment I to that Agrecment;
- 3) Section 8 of the Final Environmental Statement related to construction of PVNGS, wnich discusses the Nuclear Resulator/ Conaission (NRC) staff evaluation of tne "need for power" of eacn of the participants in the Project.
,j fhe NRC staff is currently in the process of preparing a Draft Environr. ental Statement related to operation of PVWGS. Any new "need for power" information which has resulted since the issuance of the document discussec in itein 3 above will be evaluated in that document (scheduled to be issued for puolic coment on July 30,1981).
