Atomic Energy Commission (the 1 Comission) has issued Amendment tb. 6 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-6 issued to t.he Consumers Power Company which reff sed Technical Specifications -

for operation of the Big Rock Point Nuclear Plant located in Charlevoix County, Michigan. This amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.

The amendment pennits the removal of the four lower rollers on

! fifteen peripheral control rods in the Big Rock Point Nuclear Plant.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's rules and regulations and the Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. i For further details with respect to this action, see (1) the applica-tion for amendment dated June 28,1974,(2) Amendnent No. 6 to License No. 1 DPR-6, with Change No. 43, and (3) the concurrently issued Safety Evaluation.

All of these items are available for public inspection at the Comission's l Public Document Room,1717 H Street, N. W., Washington, D. C. and at the Charlevoix Public Library,107 Clinton Street, Charlevoix, Michigan 49720.
