4. 4 hat is the. significance of not having a tectonic model for the site reglon? ,. , f I Woodward-Clyde asked the NRC Staff if the NRC already had an approved model for the site. An approved NRC model does not exist nor has the NRC endorsed a specific nodel at this time.

5. Miat type.of foreign data does the NRC Staff expect the Utility to gather? How much data?

'1ho NRC Staff wants to insure that the Utility has enough data to substantiate their case. (The intervenors should be highly active in attempting to refute the Utility's report on the seismology of the site.) The data and m>dels for Diablo Canyon and Sequoyah have .

distinct differences and are not relevant to San Onofre. The NRC Staf f, however, said that k'oodward-Clyde has proposed to study the ,

faults at Diablo Canyon and relate this to their study of San Onofre.
