INSPECTION REPORT 50-354/92-19, INSERVICE INSPECTION OF
This letter refers to the inspection conducted by hir. J. Carrasco of this office on
November 4-10,1992, at the Hope Creek Generating Station. The inspector discussed the
results of the inspection with hir. J. Hagan and other members of your staff at the conclusion
of the inspection.
This inspection focused on activities important to the public health and safety and was
directed toward engineering activities to assess your corrective action for the mechanical
snubbers that failed the functional test, to verify that the failed snubbers were replaced or
restored to their as-designed condition prior to the restart of the plant, to review your
inservice inspection (ISI) snubber program, and to assess the snubber reduction program.
Details on the areas examined during the inspection are described in the NRC Region 1
inspection report, which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection
consisted of selected examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observation by the inspector.
