While pe'rforming routina surveillance testing on #21 Diesel unerator at 2:10 p.m. on February 27,1980, i t was, 4:scovered ena t tne diesel did not acnieve rated speed in less cnaa 10 seconds.$s requts o 'vo Technical Spect fication 4.8.1.1.2.a.4.
A follow-up case was perfumed i
at 2:48 p,d.; rated speed and vol tage was achieved in 16 seconds.

This puup had been out of servtce since 7:00 a.m. c4 February 25, 1980, Since 421 Diesel Cenerator provides emergency power to 422 LPSI ptmap the operebility require *=nts (Twennical Specification 1.6) were not fully satisfieo for this poing.
Subsequent to the test perfonned at 2:28 p.m.
- 21 Otesel Generator was lef t running and aligned to 4 KV Unit dus 24 to assure an 4.ocenency po6ser source to /22 LPSI pupp.
During the entire tii.., bo th norual sources of off-stra A.C. power were avai tavle.
