Docket No. : 50-482 0

t William H. Ward, Esq.

00 to 5130 Mission Road 9

Shawnee Mission, Kansas 66205 N

Dear Mr. Ward:

On July 12, 1979, I denied the request made on behalf of the Mid-American Coalition for Energy Alternatives, the Critical Mass Energy Project, and other persons who have petitioned the Commission to suspend or revoke the construc-tion permit for the Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit No.1.

In a letter to you on November 27, 1979, I indicated that the Commissioners had extended the period within which to determine whether to review this decision.

I also indicated that the staff intended to issue a supplement to the denial with the expected date to be the end of January 1980.

A copy of the July 12, 1979 decision as reissued in its entirety with the supplemental clarifications is enclosed.

The decision remains as a denial to the petitions.

A copy of the revised decision will be filed with the Secretary of the Commission for its review in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206(c) of the Commission's regulations.

As also provided in 10 CFR 2.206(c), the decision will constitute the final action of the Commission twenty (20) days after the date of issuance, unless the Commission on its own motion institutes review of the decision within that

. time.

Sincerely,

,,-/ C)

L2 Victo'r Stello, Jr.
