Therefore the actual preocure at Reactor Coolant System (HCS), hot, Jeg pre! sure tap may be in rande of 16501252 50.75 f.o. 1575-1725 pulg at the t ime of itPI initintion.
Since t.hc HPI pwnps discharge into t.he cold Icg of RCS, t.he' core pressure drop and the static prunnure due to difference in elevation of hot icg and cold 3rg must be consider.ed,. The core prencure drop with all four Reactor Coolent Pumps running, in cicvation is approximately 100 peig und the static prent;ure due to dif ference amounts to approximately 20 poig at t.ypical RCS te2nperaturen and presnurco preva-icnt during a few minutes af t ur llPI init intion.
This yieldn a correction factor of 120 poig to convert hot Icg prencuren to cold Icg prencure at HPI connection, with cold Icg precr.ure being higher than the hot. leg presnure.
Accounting for the above correction f actor, t.be cold irg prennura range within which SFAS will act uate the HPI pumpn in 1695 to 1845 pcig.

This data reprenents a very'small break in the RCS piping caused by the prennorizer niectromatic relief valve being ntuck open, and is a conservative representation of n nmall RCS break 3cading to HPI initint ion with n very low deprensurizat. ion rate.
