SUBJECT:
APPAREili USE OF UitLICEilSED RADI0 ACTIVE MATERIALS AT THE BIOMASS RESEARCH FACILITY, ALBANY, OREGON Recently, OSliA conducted an inspection at the subject facility, prompted by an employee complaint concerning testing of radioactive sensing devices at the site. Since the company is a Federal Research Facility, it is within NRC's jurisdiction.
The enclosed letter from G. L. Welch to John Davis explains in some detail what the problem seems to be.
The purpose of this memo is to request an inspection of the facility in about 3 months or thereabouts, in order to coincide with other inspections in the northwest.
