SUBJECT:
INSPECTION CONDUCTED OF THE BIOMASS RESEARCH FACILITY, ALBANY, OREGON In response to your memorandum dated July 12, 1979, an inspection was conducted on October 22, 1979 at the Biomass Research Facility, Albany, Oregon. The inspection report is enclosed for your information.
We concluded that there were no radiation health and safety problems associated with the storage of four Kay Ray gauges. This facility is operated by a DOE prime contractor who is exempt from NRC regulations pursuant to 10 CFR 30.12.
Mr. G. L. Welch was informed by telephone on December 5,1979 of the inspection conclusions. He was also informed that a written conclusion will be forthcoming from your office.
