Amendment Nn 1 to Facilities Operating-License DPR-22 to_ _ _

- Northern States Power Company authorizing the operation of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Unit No.1 at up to 1670 megawatts thermal.

The oneration of the Monticello Plant is indemnified under Indemnity Agreement No. B-42. The licensee has~ provided -

$82,000,000 in financial protection and the indemnified site covers the entire plant. No amandment to the indemnity agree-ment is necessary at this time. However, an inctease in the_ ,

indemnity fee from $100 per year to $50,100 effective January 19, 1971, covering the increase in authorised power level from 5 HWt to 1670 )6it, should be made by the Office of the Controller.
