Mr.~ J. F. Stang of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, and

Messrs. A. N. Fresco and E. MacDougall of Brookhaven National Laboratory during

the period April 1-4, 1985, of activities authorized by NRC Construction

Permit CPPR-145 for River Bend Station,-' and to the discussion of our findings

with you and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection. included establishment and. implementation.

of the fire protection program, and compliance with the requirements of

10 CFR Part 50, Appendix R, per FSAR commitments and SER evaluation. Within

these areas,!the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures

and. representative records, interviews with personnel, and ~observatirns by the

inspectors.

These findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were

. identified.
