Tre U. S. Atcele Ener(y Conrlssion (AEC) is giving public notice that it ic considering converting the provisional operating license (DPH-22) held by the 11orthern States Power Cognny ( EP) of..inneapolis, !ilrmsota, for -
operation of Unit 1 of the Ponticello I!uclear Generating Plant located in Sherbume and Wricht Counties, Minnesota, to a full-tem operating license.
Conversion of the provisicnal license to a full-tem license would author-ice !JSP to continue to operate the nuclear facility at its presently 11-:
1 censed operating power level of 1670 regawatta (the:ml) for a period of M years from June 19,1967-the date the AEC issued Construction Permit I;o. CPPR-31 authorizing the facility's constraction.
Tne notice provides that within thirty (30) days after its publication in i
the EDERAL REGISTER on Auguct 2f,i,1972, any ratter of the public whose interest ray be affected by this proceeding ray file a petition for leave to intervene (1) with respect to whether the provisional operating license should be continued, modified, teminated or appropriately ' conditioned to protect envimrcental values, and (2) with respect to whether the full--
tem operating license should be issued.
Tetitions for leave to intervene should be submitted to the Office of the Secmtary of the U. S. Atoado Energy Comission, Washington, D. C.
