The announcement has the approval of the Director of Regulation.

r, AEC SCHEDULES PUBLIC HEARIre MAY 25 TO CONSIDER P.T.RIGT FOR UUCLEAR POWER PIMJ IN bEEESOIA The Atomic Energy Commission has scheduled a public hearing hby C3 at Buffalo, Minnesota, to consider the application of Northern States Power Company for a permit to construct a nuclear power plant near Monticello, Minnesota.
The hearing vill begin at 9 a.m. in the Wright County Courthouce at Suffalo. It will be conducted by a three-tember Atomic Safety and Licencing Board appointed by the Co: icsion. Members of the board are Dr. David 3. Hall of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Loc Ala.:os, New Mexico; Dr. Thomas H. Pictord, professor of nuclear engineering at :
3 the University of California, Serkeley; and Professor Arthur W. Murphy of the Columbia University School of lav, New York City.
Mr. Reuel C.
Stratton, a consulting engineer of Hartford, Connecticut, vill be alternate technical member of the board. Professor hhrphy will be the chairmen. A pre-hearing conference vill be held May 12 in the Courthouse at Buffalo.
Northern Statec Power Co=pany of Minneapolic has applied to the Co==iccion for a permit to construct a boiling water reactor at the company's cite about three miles northwest of Monticello. The : facility would have a net electiidioutput.of,about k71,700 kilowatta. Northern
