SUBJECT *, Marble Hill Nuclear Generating Station - Units 1 and 2 PSI Overview Program Deer Mr. Emwkinst In accordance with the preliminary commitments unde by PSI in the June 26, 1979 meeting (Raf Attached Pre-Meeting Attead==ee f.ist).
PSI will establish a 100% "Drerview Program" encompassing safety related concrete activities performed by the Gust K. Newberg Compar.y. The program will consist of the following:
- 1. Cust. E. Newberg has upgraded certain work and quality control procedures; based on the revisions. PSI has instituted a " Hold Point" program consisting of activities that cannot he gone beyond without PSI QC verification that the activity has been accomplished cotractly. This verification will consist of actual physical inspections and surveillances performed and documented is accordance with approved procedures.
- 2. The " Bold Points" will be transmitted to the Newberg QA Supervisor on a periodic basis or until such time the " Bold Points" are changed or recinded.
- 3. Each " Hold Point" is predefined (See Attachment B).
- 4. The " Bold Point" program was instituted Juif 3,1979 in order to
" burn in" the system to demonstrate it's effectiveness.
- 3. Ps! has augmented it's QC inspection and engineering staff (2 QC tagineers and 4 Level II Concrete Inspectors) to perform or surveil the activities.
- 6. PSI has performed and documented an indoctrination review and training session of the "Nold Point" program as well as the revised Newber work and quality Control procedures.
