ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY TOPICAL REPORT QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS),
REVISION 8.0 (EPID: L-2020-TOP-0022)
Dear Ms. Zozula:
By letter dated April 27, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML20118C994), Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) submitted to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) topical report (TR) "Quality Management System (QMS)," Revision 8.0 for review and approval.
The NRC performed an acceptance review and found that the material presented is sufficient to begin our review.Along with this acceptance letter the NRC staff requests for additional information are being transmitted to Westinghouse via BOX today. NRC is planning to issue a draft safety evaluation by May 7, 2020 and final SE by May 13, 2020. This schedule takes into consideration the NRCs current review priorities and available technical resources and may be subject to change. If modifications to these dates are deemed necessary, we will provide appropriate updates to this information.
The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 60 staff hours including project management time. The review schedule milestones and estimated review costs were agreed upon via email dated April 28, 2020 between Matthew
Shakun, Westinghouse, and the NRC staff.
Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the CFR requires that TRs are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours will be billed accordingly.
