Docket No. 50-482: Reassessment of Generic Letter 88-20 Supplement 4, "Individt.al Plant Examinations for External Events" Submittal Schedule Gentlemen This letter provides the results of Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation's (WCNOC) reassessment of the schedule for submitting the Individ'.al Plant Examination for External Events (IPEEE) as requested by Reference 2.
Based on this reassessment the re s ul t.s of WCNOC's IPEEE will be submitted by June 30, 1995.
Reference 1 provided a description and schedule of the program for completing the Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) IPEEE as required by Generic Letter 88-20 Supplement 4.
As identified in Reference 1,
WCNOC personnel are develeping the Individual Plant Examination (IPE), and these same people will also perform the analyses for the IPEEE.
The original schedule was developed to allow WCNOC to maximize the amount of IPEEE work performed by WCNOC personnel.
WCNOC believes that the schedule contained in Reference 1 was consistent with the level of safety significance attributed to this efforc and the resources available to complete the IPEEE.
WCNOC understands that a September 1995 IPEEE submittal date could impact the NRC's schedule for closure of severe accident issues, therefore, it is WCNOC's intent to submit the results of the WCGS IPEEE by June 30, 1995.
Should circumstances arise that warrant extending this schedule beyond June 3995, it would be WCNOC's intent to meet with the NRC staff regarding a schedule extension.
