20555 Re Nine Mile Point Unit 2 Docket No. 50-41.0 NPF-69 Gentlemen Niagars Mohawk hereby transmits an Application for Amendment to Nine Mile Point Unit 2 Operating License NPF-69.

Alec enclosed as Attachment A are the proposed changes to the Technical Specifications as set forth in Appendix A of the Nine Mile Point Unit 2 Operating License.

Pursuant to 10CFR50.92,

~

supporting information and an analysis demonstrating that the proposed changes involve no significant hazards consideration are included as Attachment B.

The proposed Technical Specification changes are to Tables 3.3.7.2-1, Soismic Monitoring Instrumentation,.and 4.3.7.2-1, Seismic Monitoring Instrumentation Surveillance Requirements. Tables 3.3.7.2-1-and 4.3.7.2-1 list the unit's seismic monitoring instruments, the sensor locations, and surveillance test frequencies. By this amendmer.t, a triaxial peak accelerograph previously listed as located on a reactor recirculation pump motor will now be listed at-

~

its new location on the reactor pedestal.

The accelerograph was moved to avoid background noise caused by normal vibration of the pump motor. Maintenance and surveillance test resu?.te recorded at the new location.during two 1991= outages and the 1992 refueling outage have been acceptable.

K" conclude, therefore, that this-triaxial peak

~

accelerograph can be returned to operable status with your approval of this amendment.
