POINT BEACli NUCLEAR PLANT. UNITS 1 AND 2 By letter dated Jime 30.1995, Wisconsin Electric Power Company submitted a summary report in response to Generic Letter 88-20, Swiplement 4, " Individual Plant Examination of External Events for Severe Accident Vulnerabilities." Based on the NRC Staffs review, a request for additional information (RAl) was developed and transmitted to Wisconsin Electric by letter dated April 15,1996, and received April 19,1996. The letter requested Wisconsin Electric to either provide a response within 60 days of receipt of the letter or notify the NRC if we believed additional time would be required to provide an adequate response.
On May 28,1996, Wisconsin Electric Power Company personnel participated in a conference call with Messrs. Allen liansen and John Chen of the NRC to clarify the information requested in the RAI. In order to provide a complete response to the RAI, we requested an additional 60 days to respond to the staffs request.
Messrs. liansen and Chen confinned the extension was acceptable.
