Dear Administrative Judges:

In accordance with our obligation to apprise the Board of matters bearing on issues before it, Applicants provide the following information.

Earlier this year, Applicants established an organization to coordinate the receipt and resolution of safety concerns of workers communicated through, inter alia, personal interviews, " hot line" communications and exit inter-views.

This organization, designated "SAFETEAM", began full operation at Comanche Peak.in February of this year.

The SAFETEAM program was initially developed and implemented by Detroit Edison Company at its Fermi Nuclear Plant and has since been instituted at three other nuclear plants in addition to Comancho Peak.

I 1 In view of the SAFETEAM activities, Applicants discontinued the services of the ombudsman on May 3.

The Board will recall that the ombudsman program supplemented Applicants' eight point program a_dopted in September, 1983.
