Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (OCNGS)
Docket No. 50-219 Facility Operating License No. DPR-16 Generic Letter (GL) 95-07: Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves GPU Nuclear's letter to the NRC dated November 14,1995 (C321-95-2321) provided a summary description of the results of the OCNGS evaluations performed in response to NRC Generic Letter (GL) 95-07, dated August 17,1995, " Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves." This evaluation determined that all valves within the scope of GL 95-07 were capable of performing their safety function. As stated in the above letter, GPU Nuclear additionally committed to evaluate the potential for thermal binding at reduced temperature differentials based on November 2,1995 NRC Region I GL 95-07 workshop guidance.
This additional evaluation has been completed and the results do not impact the previous conclusions regarding potential thermal bindinF or OCNGS.
