Revised Section 3.2 Liquid Effluent Pathways 1994 .

The three principal pathways through the aquatic environment for potential doses to man from liquid waste are the ingestion of potable water, eating aquatic foods, and j exposure while walking on the shoreline. Not all of these pathways are significant or  ;

applicable at a given time or station but a reasonable approximation of the dose can be made by adjusting the dose formula for season of the year or type and degree of use of the aquatic environment. NRC developed equations

  • were used to calculate the doses to the whole body, lower GI tracts, thyroid, bone, skin; specific parameters for l j

use in the equations are given in the Comed Offsite Dose Calculation Manual. The maximum whole body dose for the year was 4.16E-02 mrem and no organ dose l exceeded 5.02E-02 mrem (Table 3.2-1). i 1995
