CORRECTIVE ACTION:

While performing a routine inspection on mid night shift the operator noted no sludge return flow. He unsuccessfully at$empted to blow back the lines several times. The day shift chemistry technician also tried unsuccessfully to blow back the lines to clear them. Aided by the plant chemist, he lined up the decant pump to act as a sludge return pump. The day shif t operator then attempted to blow back the lines. He was successful this time and all valve line ups were returned to normal. The sample point was resampled on April 11, 1985.

The results of the anaylsis was 37.4 ag/1. A resample on April 17, 1985 was 20.9 ag/1.

PREVENTION OF FUTURE OCCURRENCES:

The maintenance engineer for the sewage plant has been informed of the need for timely repair of sewage plant equipment.

Very truly yours, W
