Dear Mr. Keppler:

This letter is being transmitted to advise you of our pro-gress concerning the modification of Dresser Industries diaphragm seal globe valves being conducted per our Devi-ation Analysis Report 212.

Since January 1985, 161 valves have been modified under the corrective action program.

This represents approximately 82% completion of the modifications required.

Approx-imately 27% of the modified valves have been tested, and have met the acceptance criteria.

The test results indicate our modification program corrects the design deficiency.

Further progress concerning the modification program and operability verification will be reported by June 1, 1985.
