50-461/84-28
Dear Mr. Keppler:
This letter updates the information contained in Illinois Power Company letter U-10239, dated January 16, 1985, responding to the Notice of Violation dated December 14, 1984, NRC IE Inspection Report No. 50-461/84-28.
The Notice of Violation concerned the adequacy of inspections performed on piping support attachment offset to anchor plates.
Illinois Power Company provides the following information:
1.
Illinois Power Quality Assurance will perform a surveillance of single attachment piping supports to verify the compli~ance of inspection criteria to design criteria for support location.
2.
Letter U-10239 committed the licensee to perform a sample reinspection of doubic attachment piping supports.
The reinspection was to verify proper location of the support relative to the anchor plate.
During the reinspection, a sufficient number of mislocations were identified to cause rejection of the lot.
A 100 percent reinspection is being performed, and the expected completion date is March 1, 1985.
