Response to Allegation Regarding Unauthorized Weld Repairs
Dear Sir:
Reference (b) identified an allegation that certain supervisors have directed welders to perform unauthorized weld repairs. You requested in Reference (b) that within thirty days we respond with our plans and schedule for review of this allegation. Our plans and schedule for this review are as follows.
We plan to review the validity of this allegation through the use of the Allegation Resolution Program recently implemented on the project.
Concurrently, we are conducting a review to determine if this allegation has generic implications. Re-examination of supports and pipe whip restraints in the general area of restraint number PWO-4000-1 is scheduled to be completed by February 28, 1985. Interviews with various supervisors and line level personnel.who may have participated in these activities during the time frame indicated in Reference (b) are also underway.
We will provide the results of our completed review of this allegation by February 28, 1985.
