Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Radwaste System Modifications, Supplement to Monthly Operating Report AECM-83/0696 In accordance with 10CFR 50.36, Mississippi Power & Light Company (MP&L) is providing twelve copies of a supplement to the Monthly Operating Report for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 for September, 1983 (Attachment).

The attached Supplement to the Monthly Operating Report provides detailed descriptions and effects of major changes tc the Grar.d 3alf Nuclear Station l' nit I radioactive waste treatment systems, as required in Section 6.15.1 of the Technical Specifications.

This attachment is an update to the radwaste system changes originally reported in the March 1983, Monthly Operating Report.

That Monthly Operating Report committed'to providing this additional information prior to exceeding five percent power.

L-The 10CFR 50.59 safety evaluations summarized in the attachment were reviewed and approved by the Plant Safety Review Committee (PSRC) as required in Section 6.5.1 of the Technical Specifications.

The safety evaluations will receive another detailed review by our Nuclear Safety & Compliance Section in preparation for the annual report on 10CFR 50.59 safety evaluations.
